Hi! I’m Emily and I am the newest addition to Gentle Touch’s Team and Dental Hygiene is my passion! I am a graduate of Vermont Technical College, with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. At Vermont Technical College I was the Class President for the Dental Hygiene Program and the recipient of the Dental Hygiene Spirit Award. I am a North Country native and I’m so excited to be back home and to be working at such a wonderful dental office filled with a group of kind-hearted, caring and knowledgeable professionals.
I am very passionate about dental hygiene and creating a pleasant atmosphere during your visit! I am committed to providing the optimal care to my patients and ensuring you are comfortable during your visit. Recently out of school, I am well educated on the newest evidence-based practice and trained in providing the highest standard of care. New to Gentle Touch, I am learning Dr. Szmigiel’s philosophy and about our multifaceted approach to providing you with the individualized care to suit your needs. I am eager to learn more from her. In addition to geriatric and adult care, I have had a lot of experience in working with, and educating children. I have provided dental hygiene education at UVM’s Pediatric Unit, The Special Olympics, and local elementary schools. I have also provided dental hygiene care for children at elementary schools through a mobile clinic. I really enjoy helping children learn oral hygiene and making it a fun habit!
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my puppy Oscar. I love being in the Adirondack’s and take advantage of it every chance I get by camping, biking, hiking, and kayaking. I live an active lifestyle through running and participating in recreational sports including flag football, soccer and volleyball.
I’m so excited to get to know you!
