I have been in the dental field for over 8 years. I started out as a dental assistant and then worked my way to a dental coder and biller for an Endodontist in Midtown Manhattan.
In 2019, I was accepted into the New York City College of Technology Dental Hygiene Program, in Brooklyn, NY. In 2020, the world was impacted by Covid 19, which halted my education, due to a national lockdown. After months of online classes and diligent studying, the campus reopened, and it was a game of catching up on all the clinical hours my classmates and I had missed. I could not wait to get back, but I cannot say I was not scared, but I missed my classmates, faculty, and most importantly providing thorough dental cleanings to the underserved community. I genuinely love helping people and making them feel safe and comfortable, by providing a great bedside manner as well as building a rapport with everyone I treat.
After two intense years of arduous work, I graduated from NYCCT dental hygiene program with honors, and I have never been prouder of myself. I do plan to further my education to become a dental hygiene instructor in the near future.
I am grateful to have made my transition here to the Adirondacks; it is quite different from what I am used to being from NYC, but I feel so welcomed and I look forward to living here, and all the experiences to come.
